We are recruiting for some new members to join the Okamicon team!
We want to make Okamicon the best it can be, and more team members will help us to go above and beyond.
Our current open committee volunteer positions:
Cosplay co-ordinator
This is a role for someone with a love for cosplay! You will collaborate with the rest of the team to co-ordinate all things cosplay at Okamicon 2025.
Duties include:
Assisting in cosplay application review.
Co-ordinating cosplay masquerade and pro cosplay competitions.
Organising of cosplay repair station.
Oversee cosplay related events during the event.
Panel co-ordinator
Panels are a core part of any convention! You will be part of our events team to curate our panels for Okamicon 2025.
Duties include:
Reviewing panel applicants and managing responses.
Curating the list of panellists for our programme.
Co-ordinating with the events team to finalise scheduling.
Oversee panels during the event, assisting panellists during set up and time management.
Workshop co-ordinator
Get hands-on as our workshop co-ordinator! You will be part of our events team to curate our workshops for Okamicon 2025.
Duties include:
Generating ideas for workshops for our programme.
Reviewing workshop applicants and managing responses.
Curating the list of workshop leads for our programme.
Co-ordinating with the events team to finalise scheduling.
Oversee workshops during the event, assisting workshop leads during set up and time management.
Fan table co-ordinator
Our fan tables showcase a range of groups that bring something special to our community. This position will help organise these groups at Okamicon 2025!
Duties include:
Organise and oversee fan tables during the event.
Curating the list of fan table related activities for our programme.
Communicating with fan table groups in preparation for the event.
Team assistants
Team assistants are a great way to gain experience and participate in the team. We are recruiting team assistants for most roles, so please highlight your interests in the application!
Duties include:
General duties relating to the role you are assisting. These may include planning tasks before the event, or on-the-day tasks during Okamicon 2025. All tasks will be communicated to you and assisted by the committee member.
